I've never been to New York City
But the thought has got me wondr'in
If my life will ever take me there someday

Like the movie stars and writers wish they

Wish they could talk about when nights get colder
Spending lonely evenings gettin' older day by day
Shivering in the cold and empty
Thinking if this don't change then we'll wither away

Thinking anything is better than alone

I can tell you're growing weary
And I guess that makes the two of us
We'd always thought we'd work it out someday

How the hell we even got here anyway

The dusty tattered picture frames
Of memories long forgotten on the other side of the road
Teardrops falling trying to remember
Voices screaming saying, You don't have to do this alone
But naturally on deaf ears they may fall
And we wonder if it's worth the say at all

All alone and broken down

With their softly flickering fireplaces

I've never been to New York City

Frost clouding the windowpane

Meant to make it at all
